Native Landscapes – Weed Control

Weed management

The management of weeds and invasive plants in the UK can be subject to legislation which includes: The Weeds Act 1959; The Health and Safety at Work Act etc 1974; The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981; The Food and Environment Protection Act 1985; The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health 1994; The Environmental Protection Act 1990; The Water Resources Act 1991; The Anti Social Behaviour Act 2014 and The Infrastructure Act 2015.

There are many plants not covered by the Weeds Act 1959 which are considered to be a threat to British wildlife. Some of these plants are listed on Schedule 9 of the “Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981” include; Japanese knotweed, Himalayan Balsam and Floating Pennywort. Native Landscapes specialise in vegetation management and ensure a cost effective and environmentally sensitive solution is always achieved.
